Name
Making the Web Accessible to All
Description

Everyone deserves equal access to the web. According to the World Health Organization, approximately 15% of people have some form of impairment and most people will develop some form of impairment as we age. This session will discuss current and future Web Content Accessibility Guidelines and demonstrate some common coding errors that software engineers make and how to correct them. We'll highlight the importance of cultural change, treating accessibility as a foundation stone of all projects, not a feature to be bolted on later. Finally, we'll signpost some excellent resources to help attendees expand their knowledge of accessibility on the web.
