Name
Grantmaking Roundtable: An Evolving Model for Elevating Community Health
Description

As an ongoing pandemic stresses the social safety net, funders from many sectors have recognized that improving health requires investing beyond healthcare institutions. Corporations and foundations are demonstrating a preference for multi-sector partnerships tackling the social determinants of health. At the same time, more hospitals are themselves investing in local nonprofits through community benefit grants and social impact investing. As health institutions move into the funder space, what can they learn from the foundations and corporations who have long worked to improve community health? And what can corporations and foundations learn from these newer funders with a unique provider perspective—particularly during and after COVID-19? Come share your experiences and your questions. This intersectional networking roundtable welcomes participants from diverse roles in healthcare, grantmaking foundations, and corporate giving. At this session, Erin Lanahan will share a preview of findings from the inaugural Community Health Investment Survey for hospitals and health systems.
