Sarah Fawcett-Lee, CFRE, joined Virtua Health, located in South Jersey, in January 2019 as its senior vice president and chief philanthropy officer. Sarah has spent her entire career in the fundraising field, including the past 19 years in healthcare philanthropy. Before joining Virtua, she served for six years as a regional vice president at MedStar Health in Maryland. Previously, she was vice president for philanthropy at Mercy Health Services and director of major gifts for the Sheppard Pratt Health System—both in Baltimore.

A certified fund-raising executive, Sarah earned a master’s degree from the College of William and Mary in Virginia, and a bachelor’s degree from the University of Hull, United Kingdom. She is a past president of the Association of Fundraising Professionals, Maryland Chapter, and has been a faculty member and assistant dean of the Madison Institute, an annual certificate program offered by the Association for Healthcare Philanthropy, since 2014.
