Carrie L. Boardwick, CFRE, serves as System Director, Philanthropy Operations at CommonSpirit Health. She is responsible for the strategic development and oversight for system-wide philanthropy operations and shared services. CommonSpirit Health is in 22 states and has more than 80 philanthropy entities.
Prior to CommonSpirit Health, Carrie held positions as Vice President of Philanthropy Operations at MedStar Health, Washington DC, and Hackensack-Meridian Health, New Jersey, where she helped to design a central philanthropy operations model for the system.
Born and raised in central New Jersey, Carrie and her family relocated to Maryland in 2017. She obtained her Bachelor of Arts in Communications from Monmouth University and her Master’s Degree in Organizational Development and Change Management from Pennsylvania State University.
In addition to her work at CommonSpirit Health, she serves the Track Dean for the Operations Track of the Association for Healthcare Philanthropy’s (AHP’s) Madison Institute, and is a member of the AHP Standards Council. She enjoys cooking, traveling and skiing with her husband, Frank, and two children, Frankie and Rachel.
