Harris & Eliza Kempner Fund
Lauren Scott joined the Harris and Eliza Kempner Fund as executive director in February 2018. Prior to the fund, Lauren served as associate director of behavioral health and research at the University of Texas medical branch. She began her career in grant development and worked as director of development and strategic initiatives at a national public education nonprofit. Lauren is an experienced nonprofit professional with skills in community engagement, developing and implementing programs, and governance. She has held numerous leadership positions in the nonprofit sector including serving as chair of Vision Galveston, a collective impact model, and serving as a director and president of the board for several Galveston nonprofits. Lauren received her Master's in Social Work from the University of Houston and her Bachelor of Arts in English from Texas Lutheran University.
