One System, One Source: How to Onboard New Families Like a Pro

Over the past few years, we have honed a process that introduces newly-admitted families to our LMS immediately. This is where they can find the information they need as they start their transition to our school. In partnership with Admission, IT, and Parent/Guardian Engagement Team, we have developed a timeline and plan of action to successfully integrate new families into our Blackbaud ecosystem. This streamlined process has eliminated the need for multiple systems, and increased communication and prompt responses to those dreaded summer forms! In this session, we will use our process as a case study. We will walk you through our timeline from the weeks before admission decisions are sent until the start of the school year. We have identified the benefits of setting the expectation that important communication and information comes from a central location, and that granting access early on has created clarity and formed good habits for our families. By starting off on the right foot in the spring, we believe that we can gain some time back across all departments and ease the transition and worry for new families.
