Bio
Matt is the executive director of The Blackbaud Giving Fund®, a donor-advised fund that drives generosity by connecting people to causes they care most about around the world. Previously, he was the senior vice president of marketing and donor experience for Fidelity Charitable, a role in which he focused on understanding donor behavior and strived to make giving accessible, simple, and effective for donors. He presents on the behavior of donor-advised fund supporters and has consulted with nonprofits on how to develop this unique set of stakeholders. Before his work with nonprofits, he led client- and customer-focused organizations, creating trusted relationships and satisfying experiences for individual customers and corporations. In his philanthropic work, Matt serves on the Research Task Force of the Generosity Commission, which is working to increase the number of Americans who give and volunteer. His personal passion is to support causes improving local public education and efforts to help people be more financially successful. Matt enjoys sailing, woodworking, and renovating a vacation home in the Blue Ridge mountains of North Carolina. He received a Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering and an M.B.A. from the University of Minnesota.
