The Empathy Opportunity: How Our Collective Unknowns Can Fuel Our Collaborative Impact

In separation, division, misunderstanding, and frustration, there is an opportunity for connection, understanding, and empathy. Unfortunately, we often choose reaction and response instead of pausing to listen and learn. The possibility lies within the pause, curiosity, and communication. We want to come together to address and explore the empathy divide in the sector, that often exists within nonprofit, philanthropy, and community spaces. We want to focus on how our individual and collective unknowns can become the fuel for relationship-building, trust, and greater impact. We will talk about - the potential benefits and harm of empathy - moving beyond consent to relationships and knowledge sharing - how to explore the greatest unknowns to shape powerful conversations - how insights can fuel accountable solutions beyond what you ever imagined Heather Hiscox, Founder and CEO of Pause for Change will discuss the opportunities for learning and co-creation, and lead attendees through live activities where they can practice curious conversation and insight mapping. Attendees will leave with strategies they can use to better understand and address any area of uncertainty, including many of the challenges caused by empathy gaps.
