Sara has worked in development operations for over nine years, primarily for educational institutions. Currently, she is the advancement operations specialist at Excelsior University, an online, accredited, not-for-profit learning institution founded in 1971 which provides educational opportunities to adult learners with an emphasis on those historically underrepresented in higher education. Prior to Excelsior, she worked at Emma Willard School in Troy, NY and WMHT Educational Telecommunications, a PBS television and classical music radio station, also in Troy, NY.

At Excelsior, Sara is primarily responsible for data entry, maintenance, hygiene, and reporting through Blackbaud Raiser’s Edge NXT. Her meticulous level of organization and attention to detail keep processes running smoothly. In between projects, she gleefully adds to and updates her department’s Policies & Procedures manual while listening to video game soundtracks.

When she’s not at work, Sara loves to dive into her own fantasy worlds and whip up messy yet lovable characters for the novels she hopes to publish someday. She also enjoys playing Settlers of Catan and crocheting stuffed turtles.
