Bio
Roger Castle is a professional fundraiser with more than 20 years of experience in the nonprofit sector. As Chief Development Officer at the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank, he oversees the strategic development, implementation, and management of all fundraising activities to support the organization's mission.
Recently, Roger and his team successfully led a comprehensive campaign that raised $177 million over four years, a pivotal achievement that enabled the acquisition and renovation of the Food Bank's 256,000-square-foot food distribution center in the City of Industry. A key member of the senior management team, Roger oversees staff across development, marketing, and communications.
Before joining the Food Bank, Roger served as Vice President of Development at the Prostate Cancer Foundation, the largest philanthropic organization funding prostate cancer research globally. There, he led all donor stewardship and fundraising efforts, including the Home Run Challenge in partnership with Major League Baseball. His extensive background in nonprofit fundraising also includes roles at the Saint John's Cancer Institute, Saint John's Health Center Foundation, and the Muscular Dystrophy Association.
Roger graduated summa cum laude from the University of Tennessee at Martin with a bachelor's degree in education. He was also a four-year member of the men's basketball team. He later earned a master's degree from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville.
