Connected Systems, Stronger Outcomes: Building a “Right Tool for the Job” Ecosystem Without Creating New Silos

Nonprofits rarely rely on a single system to support fundraising, events, digital engagement, and communications. At National Park Foundation, trying to force one platform to do everything led to data silos, manual workarounds, and slowed collaboration across teams.

In this session, National Park Foundation shares how it intentionally built a connected systems ecosystem anchored by Blackbaud Raiser’s Edge NXT while integrating specialized platforms where needed. Rather than replacing systems wholesale, NPF focused on advancing integrations and workflows so each tool could be used for what it does best, leaning into the continual improvement model and learning by trial and error where to lean into tools and when to find a different solution.

Attendees will hear how this approach improved data flow, reduced organizational friction, and strengthened cross‑department collaboration. The session will also explore how thoughtful design of online donation experiences, supported by connected systems, helped NPF elevate digital performance and establish internal best practices.
