There’s an Agent for That: How AI Workflow Agents Are Removing Nonprofit Busywork

AI workflow agents are emerging as a new way for nonprofits to reduce operational workload and focus more time on supporter relationships.

Instead of staff manually coordinating repetitive processes across systems, agents can handle routine tasks in the background - helping teams spend less time on administration and more time on mission-critical work.

In this session, Red Arc will be joined by nonprofit partners PA Research Foundation and Marine Biological Laboratory to explore how workflow agents can help with everyday operational tasks. Through real examples, we’ll look at how agents support processes such as major gift processing, decline management, fundraiser portfolio insights, and new constituent setup - areas where operational workload can quickly build for busy teams.

Together, we’ll explore where workflow agents can effectively reduce busywork, where human judgment remains essential, and how nonprofit teams can responsibly begin experimenting with this emerging technology.

Attendees will leave with a practical understanding of workflow agents and how they may shape the next era of nonprofit operations.
