Patrick Nicholas “Nick” Leary is a higher-education advancement professional specializing in prospect research, prospect management, and data-driven fundraising strategy. He has worked in nonprofit fundraising since 2010 and in prospect research for almost 15 years, with expertise in philanthropic capacity and affinity analysis, proactive identification of high-potential major gift prospects, and portfolio and pipeline optimization in partnership with frontline fundraisers and senior leadership. He currently serves as Director of Prospect Management and Campaign Strategies at Hebrew Union College, where he leads efforts to identify, evaluate, and manage major and principal gift prospects while overseeing systems that help fundraising teams efficiently prioritize prospects, strengthen donor pipelines, and align campaign strategy and outreach with data-driven insights.
Prior to joining Hebrew Union College, Nick held various roles within the advancement and development operations at the University of Pennsylvania as well as Temple University in Philadelphia, PA, contributing to prospect research, portfolio strategy, and advancement analytics supporting large-scale principal gift level fundraising initiatives. Throughout his career, his work has focused on developing prospect identification methodologies, improving data quality and reporting practices, and directly supporting major gift cultivation and stewardship efforts.
Nick is a graduate of Temple University and currently resides in the suburbs of Philadelphia with his wife and daughter, along with their three cats and a turtle.
