Angela Braren
Cofounder & Head of EPD
Instrumentl
Bio
Angela Braren is the cofounder of Instrumentl, the AI-native grant operating system where she leads engineering and design. Instrumentl was the first to use AI in grant technology and has spent a decade deepening its grant data and intelligence. She is now building the only platform that serves the full grant lifecycle: discover, apply, and manage, all in one place.
After reading thousands of proposals and staying in the trenches by talking to grant professionals every month, she has seen firsthand what it actually takes to win funding in the post-AI era. Before Instrumentl, she worked for years on the frontlines as a grantseeker, including securing major institutional funding at the Global Fund for Women.
She builds for the grant writer she used to be, and never lost her love for the people doing this work. When she's not building, she's touring playgrounds in Berkeley, CA, with her wife and toddler.
