Julie Vargo serves as the Advancement Chief Information Officer at The Ohio State University, where she leads a team of more than 50 professionals responsible for enterprise applications, infrastructure, information security, endpoint management, project management, records management, data acquisition, and data quality.

With more than 30 years of experience in technology leadership and nearly 20 years in higher education, Julie has focused her career on building and modernizing the systems, processes, and technology foundations that enable organizational success. She joined Ohio State Advancement in 2009, where her first major initiative was leading the implementation of Blackbaud CRM—an experience that cemented her passion for advancement technology and its role in supporting meaningful engagement with alumni, donors, and constituents.

Today, Julie leads efforts to modernize Ohio State Advancement's technology ecosystem, overseeing enterprise applications, infrastructure, cybersecurity, and operational services. She is passionate about creating reliable, scalable, and secure technology environments that empower teams to work more effectively and better serve the university's mission.

Outside of work, Julie enjoys spending time with her family, traveling, camping, and tackling her latest crafting project.
