Bio

Heather Kellerman is the Business Intelligence Officer at the South Carolina Aquarium, where she leads the intersection of people, systems, and data in support of a mission‑driven organization. She founded and currently leads the Aquarium’s Business Intelligence Division, transforming analytics from ad hoc reporting into a centralized, trusted decision‑support function used throughout the organization.

Heather’s work centers on building sustainable data ecosystems while investing deeply in the people who steward them. She has guided major CRM and systems initiatives including Altru adoption, integrations, and data governance. She finds joy in mentoring analysts, developing power users, and fostering cross‑functional collaboration. Her leadership philosophy emphasizes clarity, accountability, and compassion: designing systems that reduce friction for staff, elevate insight over volume, and allow teams to focus on meaningful outcomes rather than manual processes.

With a background spanning analytics strategy, nonprofit systems, and organizational change, Heather brings a human‑centered approach to data leadership. She believes that strong data practices and strong teams are inseparable - and that the most impactful analytics emerge when technical rigor is paired with empathy, transparency, and trust.
