Alexandra Berrio is YourCause’s Grants Specialist. She spent over 10 years in the nonprofit space as a grant writer with a stint of social entrepreneurship on the side. Most recently, she worked for a social justice organization helping raise over $50 million from government, corporate and private foundations alongside a robust fundraising team.

She previously co-founded and led Assistive Labs, a 'tech for good' initiative focused on co-creating technology with children with disabilities in developing countries. Assistive Labs tested their prototype in Rwandan schools with their partners Handicap International and UNICEF. Nonverbal children including children with Autism and Cerebral Palsy were able to speak for the first time. Prior to Assistive Labs, Alex worked as the Director of Innovation for the World Literacy Foundation, where she traveled extensively to social innovation conferences to partner with mobile learning projects.

Alex has always been considered ‘tech savvy’ by her friends and family. It was only right that she moved into new ‘technitorries’ where she can lean on both her passion for grants and technology.
