Director
Apollo Fundraising
Bio
As a consultant and trainer, David crafts practical funding solutions for arts, culture, heritage and higher education organisations across the UK.
In the ten years since founding Apollo Fundraising, David has led a campaign to build a new home for a 100-year-old rhino, written funding proposals to equip science classrooms with classical musicians, helped secure major gifts for a sacrificial pig’s giant gold neck ring, and written fundraising copy for a collection of kinky photos. Some of the organisations he’s helped in the last year include University of Oxford, Salisbury Cathedral, English PEN, Stop Funding Hate and National Youth Arts Wales.
At various points in his career David has been awarded a “Highly Commended” prize from the Legacy10 Awards for Excellence, named as one of the UK’s “Top 25 Fundraisers under 35” by Civil Society’s Fundraising Magazine, and been recognised by Fundraising Magazine as being one of the UK's "most influential fundraisers” (whatever that means).
Away from work, David’s hobbies include writing fictitious funding proposals to funders that don’t actually exist, and helping fundraisers improve their grant-fundraising by giving them the chance to experience life from the funders’ perspective.
