What is bbcon?

bbcon is Blackbaud's annual customer conference that brings together our entire community for three days of sharing, learning, inspiration, and innovation. 


 

Where is the conference located?

The in-person event will be hosted at the Pennsylvania Convention Center, 1101 Arch Street, Philadelphia, PA 19107.

  • Sunday, October 5: Pre-conference workshops, including Blackbaud University Day
  • Monday, October 6–Wednesday, October 8: bbcon core program
Who should attend bbcon?

Any Blackbaud customers and partners!  

What type of content will be available?

The in-person agenda includes inspiring keynotes, luminary super sessions featuring industry experts from across the sector, and educational breakout sessions across three days. It includes networking activities, a Welcome Reception and our bbcon celebration event. In addition, our Marketplace offers access to Blackbaud experts, partners, and sponsors showcasing the latest products and services for the social good community. Is space limited in person?

Space is limited, so we recommend registering as soon as possible to secure your seat for the in-person experience. Passes for bbcon Philadelphia will be available for purchase on a first-come, first-served basis until they are sold out.

Will there be a virtual programming this year?

We understand the significance of our virtual programming to our community, and we are committed to offering content to those who cannot join us in person.  As we continue to explore what this virtual programming will look like for 2025, we aim to provide the best possible experience.  Virtual registration will open earlier this summer when we roll out more session details.

When will session listings be available?

We are currently reviewing session proposals and plan to have all accepted sessions available on the conference website in late June. 

When can I register for sessions?

The only sessions you register for in advance and are guaranteed a seat at are the pre-conference workshops, available at an additional cost.  During the registration process, you will be asked if you would like to attend our pre-conference workshops, and you will be able to select from Blackbaud University Day or Developer Workshops. You are guaranteed a seat at these sessions, and once capacity for these pre-conference workshops (50 max) is filled, the session will not be available for booking.

For the core conference program, we will launch the bbcon agenda builder in September. This will allow you to add breakout sessions you are interested in attending to your personalized in-person agenda. These sessions are available on a first-come, first-served basis. We highly suggest adding back-up sessions to your "favorites" list in case your preferred session is full.

If there is a breakout session you really want to attend, please arrive early to secure your seat. Please note that our conference planning committee does their best to place popular sessions in the largest rooms possible to accommodate demand.  We cannot add additional seats in overcrowded rooms due to fire code regulations. We appreciate your understanding.

Will sessions have continuing education credit?

Blackbaud University Day pre-conference workshops will receive CE credits, the list of sessions can be found here.  

A list of general breakout sessions qualifying for CE credits will be shared later this summer.

Registration & Pricing

How do I register for bbcon?

Click here to begin your registration for bbcon! If you’ve already registered, please refer to your confirmation email for instructions on how to manage or update your registration details.

How do I modify my registration once I’ve completed it? 

Click on the “modify registration” link in your confirmation email to make edits to your registration or account. You will need to log in using the email address and password that you used to set up your account. Once you are logged in, you can make changes to your contact information, add pre-conference workshops to your registration, or make a substitution.  If you have lost your confirmation email or need further assistance, please reach out to our conference team.

How much does a conference pass cost?

What are the payment options?

Conference registration fees can be paid for with the following credit cards only: American Express, MasterCard, or Visa. If credit card payment is not an option for you, please complete your registration through to payment page and then email conference@blackbaud.com to request an invoice. Please reference registration policies and procedures.

How do I register for a pre-conference workshop?

Blackbaud University Day and Developer Workshops are part of our pre-conference agenda hosted on October 5.  Learn more about the pre-conference workshops.

To register for pre-conference, follow the following steps:

Answer "Yes" to "Would you like to attend the pre-conference?"

Continue answering registration questions, when you arrive on tab 5, select which workshops you would like to attend.

Then you can select which pre-conference sessions to secure your seat.

How can I pay for my conference pass?
  • You will be required to pay for your ticket at time of registration.
  • All registration fees for bbcon are in U.S. dollars.
  • Conference registration fees can be paid for with the following valid credit cards only: American Express, MasterCard, or Visa.
  • You may choose to pay with the same credit card for multiple registration fees or use individual credit cards for each transaction.
  • Please refer to registration policies or contact us if you have any questions.
Can I make a group purchase for registration? 

Yes, to register a group, please click here. You must identify a primary group leader to set up an account in the portal. Please note that payment must be completed with a credit card. After completing purchase, you can invite your group members to register directly from the portal via a personalized registration link. Invitees will not be required to make payment for their conference pass, though they will be asked to complete their registration profile, set preferences, and acknowledge event policies.

Is there a group rate? 

Yes! Our group registration option highlighted above will automatically calculate a discount offer for registering 10 people to attend bbcon 2025 in Philadelphia. Register nine individuals and your tenth registration is free. Please note that group passes must be paid by credit card and are non-refundable.

Can I add pre-conference day to my registration?

Yes! You can add pre-conference workshops by modifying your registration, and selecting "Yes" to the "select "all-access pass" and click 'continue'. You will be prompted to select the pre-conference workshops you are interested in and then continue to payment page. Please be sure to notify your group pass organizer as they will need to process payment for this upgrade directly as the group owner. 

Can I purchase a guest pass for the evening networking activities?

Yes! If you are traveling with a plus one, you may purchase a guest pass for the Welcome Reception and Celebration Event for $175. The person must be 21 years or older. If you are interested, email conference@blackbaud.com. 

What if I need to cancel or substitute my registration for bbcon? 

Cancellations made on or before August 15, 2025, will receive a full refund. Requests made after August 15, 2025, will not be eligible for a refund. Group purchases are not eligible for refunds. Please refer to registration policies here.

Do you offer scholarships for bbcon?

We do not currently offer scholarships for bbcon in-person attendance. We do, however, have a virtual pass available to people who don't have budget to attend in person. You can review bbcon pricing here.

Hotel & Accommodations

How do I secure a hotel room?

Click here to book your hotel room at the guaranteed lowest rates using our reserved room blocks! Rates expire on September 8. If you have any questions during the hotel reservation process, please reach out to our bbcon Hotel Reservation Office at bbconhotels@expovision.com

Who do I contact if I require special assistance at the conference?

It is extremely important to us that all of our conference attendees have a wonderful experience at bbcon. If you require special assistance or have dietary needs, please include them in appropriate section within your registration form. If you have any further questions or concerns, please contact us. We will do our best to accommodate your needs.
